After finishing #1 in the state for emissions training, Neal was offered a position teaching the class for the state of Connecticut. Soon after, he developed and taught a class called, “Get To Know Your Car.” This was a class intended to familiarize the consumer with the workings of their automobiles. He taught this for four years at Manchester Community College. He returns to teach it from time to time. When Neal sold the business and retired from the mechanical bays, he worked in a body shop for six months while seeking a teaching position. In 2006, he was hired by Baran Institute of Technology (later purchased by Lincoln Tech) where he worked for three years. He then joined NAPA Autotech in 2009 where he currently makes his living. “It was a natural progression” says Neal. Neal credits GM Instructor, Roy Schoenfeld with being an influential role model.
